Kraden's story begins when he joins Isaac, Garet, and Jenna on a research trip to Mt. Aleph three years after Saturos and Menardi failed to steal the Elemental Stars due to the mountain's traps. Upon solving the shrine's puzzles and retrieving the stars, they are ambushed by Saturos, Menardi, and Felix, the latter having been kidnapped during storms three years earlier. The antagonists kidnap Jenna and Kraden, taking three of the four Elemental Stars to light the four lighthouses and release Alchemy on the world. This event forces Isaac's party, later joined by Ivan and Mia, to pursue the group across two continents. Later in the narrative, after Saturos and Menardi die, Felix convinces Jenna and Kraden to join him in completing the original objective of activating the remaining lighthouses.

The journey began when Isaac, Garet, and Jenna joined Kraden on a research trip to Mt. Aleph three years after the failed raid by Saturos and Menardi. They managed to solve the shrine's puzzles and retrieve the Elemental Stars, only to be ambushed by their rivals along with Felix, who had been kidnapped during storms three years earlier. In the chaos, Kraden was taken captive alongside Jenna, carried away as Saturos' party departed to light the four lighthouses. Decades later, thirty years after Alchemy returned to Weyard in Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, Kraden reunites with Matthew's party. He is ambushed by Blados, Chalis, and Arcanus during their travels across Weyard, separating him from Nowell as the group faces a deadly eclipse heralded by Luna Tower.

Reader's Guide

Kraden appears in Golden Sun as an elder who joins Isaac's initial expedition to Mt. Aleph. He is captured early in the story by Saturos and Menardi, serving as a catalyst for the protagonist's journey. In Golden Sun: The Lost Age, he switches allegiances after being convinced by Felix to help complete the lighting of the lighthouses once Saturos and Menardi are dead. By Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, set thirty years later, Kraden is an established figure who aids the descendants of the original heroes. He meets Matthew, Karis, Rief, and Tyrell after they crash a Soarwing, joining them before being ambushed by Blados, Chalis, and Arcanus, which separates him from Nowell during their quest to stop the Psynergy Vortexes.
